Eden Fading
Description
This story opens in 1961, and right away the reader discovers that peace and violence, beauty and evil, can co-exist in the same place, casting a contradiction into every story. Danny appears to be a sweet and innocent three year old boy, but is actually an enigma no-one can decipher. At the core of his soul lurks an evil, bent on the destruction of his brother Wayne. As the book begins, the family is beset with one catastrophe after another, which threatens to destroy them from within.
Danny is at the center of all of this chaos, and as we follow him through the years, his inner battle between good and evil, is played out in unimaginable ways. Follow the family through those years of tribulation, as their steadfast belief in God, and hope for a better future keeps them going, and makes them a pillar of strength. . . But is there hope for Danny?

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting!!!, February 12, 2011

Michael Barnett is an author who will draw you into
the story from the very first page and keeps the
action flowing. While it may seem strange that such
young children can get into so much trouble, the plot
to Eden Fading is realistic when taken in context
with the belief of good versus evil and the way those
forces can affect people of all ages. The main
characters are well-developed and the reader gets a
look into their minds to see what drives them through
the action of the story. The plot is thrilling and
will keep you turning the pages to find out what
happens next. It isn't until the end of the book that
the reader will discover the forces acting upon young
Danny Walker. That ending is very well-written and an
excellent climax to the events that occur throughout
the book.
Eden Fading fits nicely into the Christian fiction
category and I highly recommend it for anyone who
enjoys Christian fiction. I look forward to reading
any other books that Michael Barnett writes in the
future. - Sheila Rae Myers, Author.

This book brought back many memories in my own life.
It was fun to look forward to page after page of
"What is Danny going to do next." It is a real page
turner.I connected with Danny's mom and her challenges
of raising a special child.I love the message of this
book that no matter who you have been,no matter how bad
you have been, you can change. This book definitely
reflects my belief that God can get you through anything.

Loved the book! I can't wait to find out what Danny will
be up to next, so I am already waiting to see what
adventures are around the corner for the Walker brothers!
It was a walk down memory lane and brought me back to a
simpler time in life. I sensed a lot of love and
childhood memories went into this one. Keep up the good
work. I recommend this book for young and old. Baby
boomers will remember their childhoods on the pages and
younger folks will get a history lesson as Michael tells
his story but also chronicles the events of the 1960's.
Great job Michael Barnett!

As an avid reader for over 50 years, and my books of
preference being anything that tells a good story,
Barnett's book of memories, 'Eden Fading', is the best
story I've read in a long, long time. I couldn't wait to
read the next chapter of Danny's adventures. Not only is
Barnett's writing and his ability to tell a good story
"spot-on", it is extremely unique. His beginning and
ending of his book is pure genius. I highly recommend
'Eden Fading' to anyone who enjoys an exceptional read
and a real page-turner. Me, I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel!

FAQ
What was your inspiration for this book?
The inspiration for the story, like most of my novels, comes from the depths of a creative well, based on asking myself questions over and over. In other words, it wasn't any one thing that inspired me to write this novel. I try to write something different each time I sit down to write ...
For the story's themes of domestic abuse, what kind of research did you have to do?
Less research than you would imagine—in fact, I did none. I'm almost 45 years old, I've read newspapers my whole life, I've seen news shows on television, I've seen movies, I've read books, I've seen episodes on U.S. commercial television. And I think everyone has a pretty clear id ...
